Miratorg's Jan-Sep meat sales up 6% to 258,000 tonnes
In the first nine months of 2012, Russian agricultural holding Miratorg's meat sales increased 6% on-year to 258,000 tonnes.
The company said in a statement Tuesday (Oct 9) that it attributed the growth to the launch of pig farms. Pork output went up 65% to 197,400 tonnes in live-weight.
The output of the Korocha processing plant owned by the company grew 27% to 122,600 tonnes.
The production of feed rose 87.8% to 527,100 tonnes.
Miratorg harvested 498,300 tonnes of crops, up 89% on the year.
The company said that it had constructed 19 pig farms in the Bryansk Region in the reporting period and plans to build four more farms by the end of 2012.
