Pakistan gives full support to develop aquaculture

The government of Pakistan is giving its full support to its fish farmers, the Executive District Officer (EDO) of Agriculture said.

Besides supplying fish seed of various indigenous and exotic species, the government is also providing free technical assistance on setting up fisheries.

Funds and other technical support, such as free analysis of soil and water, have also been made available for Pakistani fish farmers

The official said that fish farming can play an important role in poverty alleviation and the economic development of the farming community and the government was doing all it could to aid the fish farming sector.
