Malaysia-based Manuka Biotech appoints regional sales manager

Manuka Biotech, a subsidiary business unit of China-based Singao, has appointed Mak Yat Lun (Maky) as regional sales manager.

Mak graduated with a degree in Agricultural Science (Horticulture) from University of Putra Malaysia and had been involved in trading of palm oil and feed phosphates for many years. Prior to joining Manuka Biotech, he held a regional commercial role in a global animal premix company with proven track record in successfully developing sales network in Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines.

Mak will be responsible for leading commercial outreach and strategic growth of Manuka Biotech and developing distributor network in the international market, especially Asia Pacific. He reports directly to Dr. Lai Zhou Wen, managing director of the company.

"In light of more countries joining the ban of antibiotic application in feed, the animal health market has grown rapidly and there is huge potential for Singao and Manuka Biotech products to serve the global market. Mr Mak's extensive experience will further strengthen Manuka Biotech's brand in this region while also expanding our presence in the marketplace," says Dr. Lai

Manuka Biotech markets a broad range of fatty acid solutions that targets pathogen control, intestinal health, and bioregulation. The company also carries specialty fat, functional solution pack and more.

According to Manuka Biotech's website, in 2020, Singao decided to transfer its technology to set up its first plant and regional office in Malaysia with a production capacity of two tonnes per hour. The main reason of the decision was the availability of raw materials in Malaysia. It marked a milestone for Singao to further engage and penetrate the market outside of China.
