Pork production in Ecuador reached over 200,000 tonnes last year

Ecuador's estimated national pork production in 2023 was 216,389 tonnes, with an increase in production over the last 10 years (with an average growth rate of 6%).

The efforts of the country's pork industry to meet national demand have made Ecuador self-sufficient, with per capita consumption increasing from 7.92kg/person to 11.92 kg/person in the last five years.

Ecuador also exported pork for the first time last year; 22.5 tonnes of the meat was delivered to the Ivory Coast.
