Germany confirms one new African swine fever case in wild boar
Germany's Federal Agriculture Ministry confirmed one new African swine fever (ASF) case in a wild boar at Brandenburg state, east Germany, Reuters reported.
This new case brings the total ASF cases in the country to 50 since the first case was reported on September 10. All the cases have been limited to wild boar in Brandenburg state, with no farm livestock affected.
All ASF cases were confirmed by Germany's Friedrich-Loeffler scientific institute.
Germany's swine prices have remained unchanged this week, maintaining its stable trend following a sharp price down after the first ASF case was reported.
Dealers have placed their hopes in increasing German pork sales inside the European Union after China and other pork buyers banned German pork imports.
