Paraquat approved for use in Brazil's upcoming crop season

According to a statement from Aprosoja, Brazil's grain growers association, health regulator Anvisa said soybean, corn and cotton producers who own inventories of weed killer paraquat have been allowed to use the product for the upcoming 2020/2021 crop season, Reuters reported.

Anvisa had declared a ban on paraquat use effective September 22.

However, Aprosoja managed to obtain Anvisa's authorisation for producers who currently have paraquat stocks in order to avoid losses.
