Geelen Counterflow organises dryer workshop for customers

In early October, 28 dryer customers participated in Geelen Counterflow's Dryer & Cooler Training 2018 workshop in the Netherlands, where they learned to optimise counterflow dryers that are used for extruded aqua feed or pet food in a more efficient manner, Geelen said.

Attendees of the workshop came from Ecuador, Peru, Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Nigeria, Denmark, France, Serbia and Poland.

The event marked the 11th year Geelen Counterflow organised the training. During the 3-day workshop, participants learned about the thermodynamics of drying and cooling, relative humidity, dew point temperatures, wet bulb temperatures and a number of other relevant topics.

The training would begin with theory, followed by an afternoon session in which participants attended four different workshops that focused on dryer process calculations, dryer controls, air systems, and process measurement.

In the past years, more than 200 dryer customers have followed this course, Geelen said.

The next dryer training workshop for Geelen Counterflow dryer customers will take place in Haelen, the Netherlands, in October 2019.
