Brazil and Argentina in agreement to resume pork imports

Brazil's Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Mendes Ribeiro Filho, and Argentina's ambassador in Brasília, Luis María Kreckler, have established an agreement to resume import of pork cuts to Brazilians there.

Other than pork, there was also progress made by the Brazilian government on the imports of apple, pear and quince from Argentina.

In a statement, Ms Kreckler said the success of the negotiations conducted by the Ministry of Commerce, the Embassy of Argentina in Brazil and the Ministry of Agriculture, is the result of commitment to the highest levels of both governments to prioritise the channels of dialogue.

Minister Mendes Ribeiro reported that the search for consensus and understanding is the best way for both countries to become stronger together than on their individual strengths.
