Ukraine establishes floor price for corn

 

 

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine has established a minimum intervention price for corn, the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) said Tuesday (Oct 6).

 

The intervention prices for first and second grade corn from October 2 to July 1, 2010, are UAH1,175 (US$141) per tonne, according to the association. The maximum will be UAH1,362 (US$163) per tonne.

 

The association added that the minimum price for third-grade milling corn will be UAH1,140 (US$137) per tonne, and the maximum will be UAH1,321 (US$158) per tonne.

 

The minimum price for feed corn was established at UAH850 (US$102) per tonne. The maximum will be UAH985 (US$118) per tonne.

 

In September, Ukraine added corn to the list of commodities subject to governmental price regulation in marketing year 2009-10, the UGA said.
