A new company, Lohmann Animal Nutrition GmbH, began operation this month following its purchase of Lohmann Animal Health/Elanco's feed additive division.

Lohmann Animal Nutrition will provide the feed industry with safe and high-quality feed additives for economical animal nutrition, the new company said in a statement.

It vowed to continue the tradition of the feed additive division of Lohmann Animal Health (LAH).

Lohmann Animal Health's purchase of LAH practically handed back to Dr. Bruno Kaesler, LAH's former managing director, LAH's entire feed product portfolio.

Some LAH 130 employees are expected to be transferred to Lohmann Animal Nutrition. Most of them are employed in Cuxhaven-based headquarters in Germany where Lohmann operates a feed additive plant with seven state-of-the-art mixing lines for liquid and powder formulations.

In addition, the company owns a Chinese subsidiary which operates in Shanghai, China, taking care of local quality management and supply partners.

Lohmann Animal Nutrition also holds 49% of a joint venture for the production of enzymes in Wuhan, China.
