Armenian meat output down 11.5% in Jan-Aug

During January-August 2010, meat production in Armenia contracted by 11.5% or 3,543 tonnes to 27,163 tonnes from a year ago, the National Statistical Service said.

The figure also includes meat processed by farmers for sale, the service added.

According to its preliminary numbers, Armenian companies also produced 261 tonnes of semi-finished meat products, a 9.9% growth from 237.6 tonnes in the first eight months of 2009.
