Russia denies entry of 550 tonnes of US chicken legs
Russia's consumer protection watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor, said Thursday it had stopped the entry of more than 550 tonnes of US chicken legs.
Rospotrebnadzor described the cargo "counterfeit and prohibited."
In a statement Rospotrebnadzor said it had also stopped more than 77 tonnes of pork products and 110 tonnes of apples from Poland and Germany because they were labeled "improperly."
In August, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree banning or limiting food imports from countries that have imposed sanctions on Moscow for its support of rebels in eastern Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea.
