US demand for meat, poultry, seafood packaging to reach US$9.5 billion
In the next five years, US demand for meat, poultry and seafood packaging will rise to an expected US$9.5 billion.
Pouch growth will likely be helped along by demand for single-portion fresh, frozen and processed items in vacuum pouches, with shelf-friendly stand-up pouches leading the way.
Furthermore, increased demand for meat products by club and warehouse stores is expected to contribute to growth. Evolution of vacuum and modified-atmosphere packaging will help drive the increase in use of high-barrier film.
As the ready-to-eat market appears to be the fastest-growing segment, consumers are increasingly hungry for precooked bacon, cook-in-bag meats and other convenient items.
