EU pork exports fall 11 percent
Pork exports in the EU have fallen 11 percent in the first six months of 2007.
the EU-27 exported 860,000 tonnes of pork to other countries during the period, according to German market research bureau ZMP.
Exports to Russia and Japan saw the steepest drop.
Russia, the EU's main trading partner, imported about 20 percent less meat in the first six months of 2007.
Meanwhile, EU pork exports to Asia and Australia grew.
