Merck Animal Health awards US$90,000 in scholarships to future veterinarians
Merck Animal Health has awarded a total of US$90,000 in scholarships to 18 aspiring bovine veterinary students, marking a significant educational initiative carried out in partnership with the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), Ag Daily reported.
The recipients of these prestigious scholarships were chosen based on their academic accomplishments, career aspirations, practical experience, and their deep-seated passion for the field of veterinary medicine.
The official scholarship award ceremony took place at the 2023 AABP Annual Conference, which unfolded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from September 21 to September 23.
Dr Justin Welsh, executive director of Livestock Technical Services at Merck Animal Health, expressed the company's immense pride in recognising these outstanding veterinary students, emphasising their pivotal role in shaping the future of the veterinary sector and the cattle industry.
He said that these exemplary students embody the company's unconditional commitment to cattle care, as well as the company's mission to advance the Science of Healthier Animals.
