ForFarmers subsidiary buys over Dutch organic feed producer
Reudink, a ForFarmers subsidiary which offers organic feed solutions, has acquired Van Gorp Biologische Voeders B.V. (Van Gorp Bio), a ForFarmers press statement announced.
As part of the acquisition, Reudink will take over Van Gorp Bio's specialised feed mill, its customer portfolio and current manpower. Through this transaction, the former strengthens its leading position in the Dutch organic animal feed market.
Van Gorp Diervoeders, which is located in Waalwijk, the Netherlands, is not part of the transaction.
Van Gorp Bio, like Reudink, focuses on creating feed solutions for organic livestock farmers active in all species. The company's organic feed is produced at a feed mill in Schalkwijk.
In 2017, Van Gorp Bio sold 67,000 tonnes of feed. Its turnover for 2017 amounted to approximately EUR31 million (US$36 million) with an EBITDA of EUR1.2 million (US$1.4 million).
Van Gorp Bio has twelve employees, including current managing director, Arno van Gorp, who will stay in the company to facilitate a smooth integration.
"There is an increasing demand for organic food and therefore also for organic animal feed. We want to further expand our position in this market. Acquiring Van Gorp Bio seamlessly fits this ambition," Wilfred Jonkman, managing director of Reudink, said.
"We are convinced that merging with Reudink, and therefore with ForFarmers, offers added value for both our organic customers and our employees," said Arno van Gorp.
"Reudink's ambition to continue to grow internationally in the organic market by offering both innovative concepts and advice to customers appeals to us and gives us the confidence that this part of our company will continue to improve."
