No Sign Of Swine Fever In Second Tested Danish Pig

A second pig in Denmark suspected of having classical swine fever, or CSF, was cleared of the disease after tests showed negative results.

The test were carried out and published by the Danish veterinary authorities. An earlier suspected case was already ruled out last week.

On Friday, suspicious of a swine fever case in an incoming live hog caused meat-processing group Danish Crown to close its slaughterhouse in central Denmark. This incident occurred just days after Danish Crown closed down another abattoir in the southwest, on reports of a dead pig showing symptoms. 

Both suspected cases have since been cleared and the slaughterhouses have started operating again.
