UK Milk Company In Fresh Deal
OVER 80% of UK's United Milk suppliers have signed contracts with the new company expected to take over a stricken plant in Wiltshire.
Of the 285 farmers supplying milk to the factory when United Milk went into receivership on 19 August, 236 signed, 40 chose to switch to other purchasers, and nine remain undecided.
Westbury Dairies, the company created by the consortium of co-ops set up to rescue the factory, was reportedly delighted by this, and are still in negotiations with the undecided producers. The deadline for the signing of contracts is 22 September.
