New highs in milk powder prices
Batavia, NY - Nonfat dry milk powder prices climbed to pre-pandemic highs this week. Closing the week at $1.10/lb, milk powder prices were at levels last seen in early Mar. Dry whey prices have also gained recently and on Thu were at the highest level since May, before retreating three quarters of a cents on Fri. Improved exports have supported prices of both products. Our contacts indicate business has picked up to Mexico, in addition to firm sales to other export regions, including Southeast Asia.
