Colombia makes progress to get sanitary access for pork, minister says
Colombia has held bilateral meetings with several countries such as China, South Korea, New Zealand, Japan and Russia to get sanitary admissibility for Colombian agricultural products, including pork.
Colombia's Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Rodolfo Zea Navarro, said that progress has been made in those meetings.
At a meeting with the Colombian Ambassador to China, Luis Diego Monsalve, Navarro thanked the former for his efforts to expedite eligibility processes for pork.
A response is also expected from the South Korean health authority, APQUA. Colombia's goal is for its pork to achieve sanitary admissibility by 2021.
In addition, Colombia will begin to advance sanitary access for beef to Japan.
