Russia restricts French factories' meat, dairy supplies
Temporary restrictions of supplies from 12 French factories, nine meat processing and three dairy has been imposed by Rosselkhoznadzor, Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Plant Control to the markets of Russia and the Customs Union.
Rosselkhoznadzor said that the ban was introduced following the discovery of violations of Russia's and the Customs Union's veterinary and sanitary norms at the French factories.
Russia's veterinary service has asked the French veterinary service in a letter to conduct an investigation of the discovered violations.
French factories were checked from June 26-July 9. As agreed with the Belarussian and Kazakh veterinary services, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists had inspected 19 French factories authorised to supply animal produce to the Customs Union's member states.
Based on the results of the inspection, Rosselkhoznadzor allowed seven French factories, five dairy and two meat processing to continue supplies of their products to the Russian market.
