Ukraine to resume grain exports
The government of Ukraine has authorised companies to export 1.203 million tonnes of grain from November 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008.
Companies were specifically allowed to export 600,000 tonnes of corn, 400,000 tonnes of barley and 200,000 tonnes of sixth-grade fodder wheat. The government assesses Ukraine's overall grain export potential at 4 million to 5 million tonnes. Earlier restrictions on grain exports made it possible to form necessary reserves to meet internal demand in anticipation of a new harvest, the government said.
