Malaysia's Domestic Trade Minister says chicken egg shortage is temporary

Malaysia's Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry said the shortage of eggs in several parts of the country is only temporary, The Star reported.

its secretary-general Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof said the issue was quickly and successfully solved thanks to collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries.

He said the primary causes of the issue were found to be technical issues, such as slow delivery and orders that were not completed on time.

He also said itis true that there was a recent shortage of chicken eggs in a number of locations, including Langkawi, Hulu Terengganu, and Jerantut, but law enforcement officials went down to investigate as soon as they were notified.

The secretary-general said if a complaint of an egg shortage was made in the morning, the supply would be restored in the afternoon.
