Haiti confirms first ASF outbreak since 1984
Haiti has reported an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The outbreak started on August 25 near the border with the Dominican Republic, in the city of Anse-à-Pitre, on a backyard holding with 2,500 susceptible animals.
The outbreak is the first case of ASF reported in Haiti since 1984.
