Kiotech International moves into profit

British feed firm Kiotech International, manufacturer of high-performance natural feed for use in aquaculture and agriculture, has moved into profit for the first time since becoming a public company.

The Surrey-based company announced sales of GBP2,806,470, (4,004,412 euros, US$5,660,933) resulting in maiden profit before tax of GBP251,602 (358,974 euros, US$507,506).

The profits include a full six- month contribution from agriculture feed additives company Agil, which was purchased in November 2006.

The company said Aquatice (a chemosensory stimulant for fish feed) registration is being pursued in China and Thailand following successful trials.

Kiotech is also doing trials in new species in the Far East and exploratory discussions are underway with major shrimp producers in Central and South America.
