Argentina's July Soyoil Exports Up 10% Vs Year Ago
 
Argentina exported 526,428 metric tons of soyoil in July, or almost 10% more than the 479,824 tons exported during the same month in 2003, the latest Agriculture Secretariat data show.
 
Exports rose as China imported more, making it the top buyer of local soyoil in July. China imported 248,510 tons in July, up almost 24% from 200,743 a year earlier.
 
India ranked second in July, accounting for 123,049 tons compared with 111,438 tons a year earlier.
 
South Korea was third with 23,060 tons against none the previous year.
 
SOYMEAL, PELLETS
 
Argentina also exported 1,599,133 tons of soymeal and pellets in July, or 6.7% less than the 1,713,994 tons shipped during the same month in 2003.
 
The Secretariat does not distinguish between meal and pellets in its monthly report.
 
Spain was the top destination for soymeal and pellets in July, accounting for 157,530 tons, down from 202,585 tons a year earlier.
 
The Netherlands came in second with 142,237 tons against 214,611 tons a year ago.
 
Indonesia ranked third, buying 134,014 tons against 27,296 tons the previous year.
 
Argentina is the world's No. 1 soyoil and soymeal exporter.
