Indonesian government's action helps prop up broiler price, which could still dip in September
 
 
 

 

As the school holiday season in Indonesia came to an end, live broiler prices stood at an average of Rp20,500/kg (US$1.26/kg) for the week ending August 29, compared to Rp21,000/kg (US$1.29/kg) in the previous week (ending August 22).

 

The difference revealed a price drop of about Rp500kg (US$0.03), which, according to EFL AG-DATA, showed weaker demand as the local school holiday ended and supplies from integrators and contract growers were at sufficient levels.
