Orffa organises first seminar for Flemish customers since start of pandemic

Orffa Belgium NV recently organised its first seminar for Flemish customers since the start of the COVID pandemic.
The theme of this year's seminar was focused on One Health, and several experts were invited to the event.
Wageningen Livestock Research senior researcher Dr. Ir. Alfons Jansman focused on how to reduce nitrogen excretion through adjustments to the feed of pigs and poultry.
Shannon Groen, researcher at Delft Solids Solutions, shed some light on the different techniques available to test dustiness of feed additives and feeds. She also highlighted solutions to manage dustiness in order to safeguard worker's health.
Katrien D'hooghe, managing director of the Belgian Feed Association, provided some insight on the various topics that the organisation is currently focusing on in order to be a bridge between farmers and politics at all levels. Its 12 topics concerned with goals to make the feed production sector more sustainable by this year and are very much in line with Orffa's focus to maintain the Ecovadis Gold recognition in the years to come.
Two Central Technical Management members presented on Orffa products in relation to One Health and sustainability.
Lien Vande Maele looked into the importance of selenium, an essential trace element, in human health. Focus was placed on the importance of a health daily intake and the importance of consuming the correct form of selenium like those present in Orffa's Excential Selenium4000.
Orffa's Aurélie Montagnon delivered a presentation on the different products within the its portfolio that can be used to reduce feed cost (with Excential Energy Plus) and improve worker's health (with Excential Selenium4000 and Elovitals MIKU).
