VIV Worldwide hosts successful feed and livestock event in Qingdao, China

As the heritage of the VIV Worldwide brand in China and a defining exhibition for the feed and livestock sector, VIV Qingdao 2019 was held in Qingdao West Coast New Area from September 19-21.

This year's exhibition was dubbed VIV's first year of its '2.0' strategic planning upgrade in China. With an exhibition area of nearly 50,000 square metres, 450 exhibitors came from over 30 countries, and more than 20 professional conferences and events were also held. In addition, VIV Qingdao attracted more than 300 industry leaders and 200 VIP buyers. Visitor numbers to the show on the opening day reached new records.

The organisation of VIV Qingdao received strong support from the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, the China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation, and the organiser of the VIV Worldwide series of events, VNU Exhibitions Europe.

Realising resource integration and industry linkages from "feed to food", some conference events included a Farm and Food Integration Seminar, the 3rd China Swine Science Conference, the 3rd World Conference on Farm Animal Welfare, VIV Qingdao International Summit 2019, and an InnovAction Campaign.

The conference events covered hot topics such as African swine fever, new animal welfare concepts, the new trend of farms moving towards the food sector, antibiotic elimination, smart farming, animal nutrition and health, and development of the egg sector. More than 3,000 people attended the events, including top-level management of large-scale enterprises.

This year's debut InnovAction Campaign drew particular attention from attendees. Following company submission, online voting, and an expert panel evaluation, 26 products across four broad categories of feed, animal health, farm equipment, and integrated equipment, received awards of "New livestock product of the year" and "Popular new livestock technology".

Through exhibit and showcase, attendees got to interact with company staff on the awarded products, on topics such as how to better apply the new technologies. Companies such as Zhengchang, FAMSUN and Menon provided integrated solutions to meet the demands of today's agricultural developments.

The Industry Leader recruitment programme and Hosted Buyer programme saw positive response across industry sectors, and succeeded on-site in the business matching and project cooperation of many industry decision makers.

VIV Qingdao 2019 saw a significant increase in delegate numbers, with 52 delegations coming from countries such as South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Russia, which strengthened interaction among exhibitors and professional buyers.

Plans for the next edition of VIV Qingdao from September 17-19, 2020 have been announced, with the event returning to the West Coast New Area.
