Vietnam shrimp exports fly
Vietnam's shrimp exports to all its major markets have risen sharply, the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC) says.
Quoting the country's latest customs data, VITIC claims that as of mid-August 2014, shrimp export to the US reached US$694.5 million, up 80.3% year-on.
During the period, its shrimp exports to the EU earned US$387.7 million, up 98. 8% year-on, according to VITIC, which is under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Vietnam's crustacean exports to Japan also rose 4.8% year-on while those to South Korea jumped 114.5% year-on. Combined, both countries earned US$185.2 million in the same period, VITICadds.
