CJ Corp's new feed plant commences production in northeastern China

CJ (Harbin) Feed Company Limited, wholly owned by South Korea's CJ Corp, commenced production on Sep 19 in China's north-eastern city of Harbin. Costing some US$5 million, the plant is the ninth to be built by the South Korean conglomerate in China.

CJ Corp started producing animal feed in 1973. Since then, it has become the no. 1 feed producer in South Korea with an annual output of one million tonnes.

Construction of the company's Harbin plant began in Jul 2005. Using high-tech production methods developed by CJ, the plant will produce 5,000 tonnes of livestock feed monthly, including hog and ruminant feed, and these products will be marketed in the north-east as well as other regions in China.
