Unabated Surge Seen in Lysine Prices in China Thursday

After the successive price hikes early this week, lysine prices in China on Thursday are still seen on continual rise. For Chengdu city of Sichuan province, quotations averaged at around RMB30.0/kg, with some transactions made above RMB30.0/kg. Quotations in Henan of Zhengzhou province ranged between RMB28.0-29.0/kg, with transacted prices hovering between RMB27.0-28.0/kg. Lysine in Guangzhou was quoted between RMB30.0-31.0/kg, and transacted at around RMB30.0/kg.

In general, supply this week still continued to remain extremely tight, with very limited lysine in circulation throughout China. Many distributors have called a halt to issuing quotations and thus very few transactions were made. With limited supply circulating in the market, traders felt that the rising prices have not been of any benefit to them.
