Compared with July, Ukraine's meat-processing enterprises increased meat production and by-products of the first category by 3% or 2,601 tonnes in August to 89,789 tonnes.

Ukrainian News learned this from a source in the Cabinet of Ministers.

In August 2012, production of meat and by-products of the first category rose by 0.5% or 423 tonnes, compared with August 2011.

In January-August 2012, compared to the same period last year, production of meat and by-products fell by 3.6% or 25,952 tonnes to 688,972 tonnes.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, meat processing enterprises increased production of meat and by-products of the first category by 4.4% or 3,699 tonnes to 87,188 tonnes in July, compared with June.

In 2011, production of meat and by-products of the first category grew by 5.5% or 55,070 tonnes to 1,056,508 tonnes, as compared with 2010.
