An eFeedLink Exclusive

After the recent week's momentary drop, hog prices rebounded lately with hog availability limited and demand firm. High prices are higher by 74% on-year.

On average, hog prices rebounded 0.68% to RMB23.81/kg, from RMB23.65/kg.

Slaughter volumes in major wholesale centres increased 9.4% to 8,509 tonnes while pork carcass prices strengthened 2.3% to RMB30.94/kg.

Strong demand, in conjunction with tight availability and high expenses, will lend support to the hog market. However, with prices higher by 74% on-year, slaughterhouses will be cautious.
