Soaring costs of soymeal, which increased almost 20% over the past two months, stimulated the sales of lysine. With the costs of corn high, lysine producers stood firm on prices.

Transacted prices of 98.5-percent lysine in China were in the range of RMB8.49-9.10/kg while those of 70-percent lysine rose to the range of RMB5.60-6.20/kg.

Export prices of 70-percent lysine inched higher to US$0.84/kg while those of 98.5-percent varieties stayed at US$1.23/kg.

Demand for lysine is projected to stay strong with soymeal expensive. Additionally, lysine producers will attempt to increase prices amid high output costs.
