China Broiler Weekly: Market stays soft amid slack demand (week ended Sep 19, 2017)

Price summary

AA broiler market stabilized in the north, but prices slid further in the south with demand sluggish. Compared with the previous week, average price was lower by 2%.
Chick prices were stable to higher in the range of RMB2-2.30/chick. Farmers were not eager to expand inventories in view of weak chicken demand during October and November.
China breed broiler
China breed broiler fell more significantly by 4.6% as demand remained slack. In Jiangsu, prices plunged by almost 8% with supplies in excess.
Chick prices remained firm amid tight availability.
Market forecast
Demand for broiler is expected to be slow with the preparation for the long October holidays ending. Prices are poised to remain weak, exerting pressure on the chick market together with increased hatchery production.
