Indonesia, Belarus may launch joint venture on poultry meat production

Indonesia expressed interest in establishing a joint venture with Belarus to make poultry meat.

The suggestion was voiced during a meeting between Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus Leonid Zayats and top executives of Indonesian Farmers Solidarity Association on September 19. The parties discussed ways to boost cooperation in agribusiness and trade in farm produce.

The minister noted that Belarus has extensive experience in poultry farming, advanced technologies and highly-qualified personnel. He added that the country produces a broad assortment of foodstuffs and exports about 50% of agricultural produce and foodstuffs. Therefore, Belarus would like to see Indonesia among its trading partners.

Oesman Sapta, Chief of OSO Group and Chairman of Indonesian Farmers Solidarity Association noted that the two countries could increase trade in mineral fertilisers and open a joint venture producing tires. Tourism could be another promising cooperation avenue.
