Diamond V welcomes new senior scientist to research team
Diamond V continues to expand its research team, with Andrea Binnebose joining as senior research scientist (microbiology).
"I am happy to announce Andrea has joined the Diamond V team," said Joan Butler, manager of Diamond V's Research & Innovation Center.
"In this new role, she will lead research projects and help to drive the microbiology programme for current and new product initiatives. Her specialised skills in infectious pathogens to both humans and animals as well as experience with antimicrobial resistance mitigation and host-pathogen interactions will be a valuable addition to our research capabilities."
Binnebose earned her B.S. in Biology from Marian University in Wisconsin, US, and earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from Iowa State University. Her doctoral research, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as the George Washington Carver Fellowship, drove the development of a novel anti-infectivity platform to enhance antimicrobial agents in the treatment of neglected tropical and infectious diseases.
Binnebose also collaborated in research with professors at the University of California and the University of Wisconsin.
Additionally, she has authored or co-authored four peer-reviewed journal articles and has performed numerous oral and poster presentations.
Binnebose is a member of the American Society of Microbiology, the Society for Applied Microbiology, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
