Q3 US pork exports begin on a positive note
America's July pork exports were almost 398 million pounds, 3% greater than a year ago, with the five largest export destinations accounting for almost 81% of July shipments, an increase from 76% in the same period last year.
According to the USDA's Livestock, Dairy and Poultry report, the five largest export destinations for American pork are Japan, Mexico, China and Canada, followed by Russia.
Japan's share of July exports has come down significantly on-year, while larger shares by Mexico, China, Canada and Russia more than offset the lower exports to Japan, South Korean and Hong Kong.
