Taiwan's Breakfast Soybean Procurement Association's Kaohsiung branch has agreed to buy 56,000 metric tons of U.S. No. 2 soybeans from Cargill in a tender, said a trader in Taipei.

A BSPA official later confirmed the deal, struck at a premium of 126.76 U.S. cents a bushel to the Chicago Board of Trade's January 2004 soybean contract, cost and freight. Shipment dates will be Oct. 30-Nov. 13 from the U.S. Gulf, or Nov. 14-28 from the Pacific Northwest.

Earlier September, BSPA Kaohsiung agreed to buy 56,000 tons of U.S. No. 2 soybeans from Toepfer in a tender, at a premium of 121.75 U.S. cents a bushel to CBOT January, C&F. In that deal, shipment dates will be Oct. 12-26 from the U.S. Gulf, or Oct. 27-Nov. 10 from the Pacific Northwest.
