Ukraine to face strong competition on soy market

Taking into account the growing of soy processing capacities in Ukraine and the expected decrease of the oilseed production, in the new season, the country will face rather strong competition on the market.

At the end of the season 2008-09, many Ukrainian processors met the essential deficit of oilseed material.

According to the estimations, in 2008-09 MY, Ukraine's soy production totalled 812.8 thousand tonnes as opposed to 722.6 thousand tonnes in the previous season.

At the same time, export volumes of soy totalled 277.4 thousand tonnes, up 30 percent compared to the indices of the previous season.
