Argentina grains mixed on-week; CBOT weakness weighs on futures

Grain prices at the Rosario Grain exchange were mixed on the week Thursday (September 17), with most spot contracts posting moderate gains and futures easing in line with the Chicago Board of Trade.

Spot soy found support form CBOT gains and solid demand from exporters, the Rosario Exchange said.

Spot soy were traded at 970 pesos (US$252) a tonne in Rosario Thursday, up from ARS950 a week ago.

May 2010 soy futures traded at US$208 a tonne, down from US$210 two weeks ago.

Spot corn wasn't traded Thursday, but March 2010 corn sold for US$105 a tonne.

Wheat futures weren't traded Thursday. Spot wheat hasn't been traded since mid-June.

"The trading floor continues to be without buyers interested in wheat," the Rosario Exchange said.
