Reaction To U.S. Decision To Accept Canadian Boneless Beef

Boneless Canadian beef cuts may finally make their way across the U.S border, an official from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced after a U.S. acceptance of Canadian beef slaughtered at plants for older and younger cows

There is some relief because this is essentially a turning point for getting back on track for exporting beef products," said Claude Boissonneault of CFIA

For cattle plant owners, this may mean that both classes of cattle can be processed once again.  "That very significantly increases our capacity to handle the beef products from our cull cows," said Dennis Laycraft of the Canadian Cattlemen's Association.
