Ukraine grain reserves down seven percent
Ukraine's grain reserves have dropped seven percent to 25.9 million tonnes as of September 1, 2009, according to the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA).
According to the State Committee of Statistics of Ukraine, the reserves included 15.8 million tonnes of wheat, 7.1 million tonnes of barley, 500,000 tonnes of corn, and 900,000 tonnes of rye.
Agrarian enterprises stocked 15.3 million tonnes of grains, a decrease of nine percent compared to the previous year, including 8.9 million tonnes of wheat, 4.1 million tonnes of barley, 300,000 tonnes of corn, and 500,000 tonnes of rye.
Grain storing and processing enterprises stocked 10.6 million tonnes of grain, down four percent on-year.
