Ukraine's 2006-07 Grain export at 12 million tonnes
Ukraine is likely to export in the 2006-2007 marketing year 12 million tonnes of grain, with wheat exports not exceeding 2 million tonnes, the agriculture ministry's press office said Friday (Sep 15), quoting deputy agriculture minister Ivan Demchak.
In the 2005-2006 marketing year, which ended Jun 30, Ukraine exported 6.43 million tonnes of wheat, compared with 4.38 million tonnes in the 2004-2005 marketing year.
The fall in wheat exports in the current marketing season is attributed to a smaller harvest and to the damage to wheat harvested this year by corn bug.
