Turkey's milk production increased by 16.5% in July

 


Turkey's overall cow milk production showed a hike of 16.5% hike in July this year, according to TurkStat, the country's statistical authority said on Thursday.


Official data also showed that the total amount of milk collected from integrated dairies amount to 850,000 tonnes, up from 740,977 tonnes in the same month last year.


"Drinking milk production by integrated dairies became 105,600 tons in July and increased by 2.9% when compared to the same month of the previous year," the institute shared.


Additionally, on a yearly basis, the amount of cheese made from cow milk climbed by 19.3% and reached 64,072 tonnes.


From the period of January to July 2018, Turkey's export of dairy products, birds, eggs and natural honey amounted to nearly $420 million while the country's imports totalled to an estimated $93 million.


Turkey's official statistical authority will release next figures related to milk and milk products on October 12.
