Vitamin C prices hit new low in China

Prices of vitamin C hit new low records during the week ended September 7.

As the weather temperature dropped of late, aquaculture production in north China slowed down, hence decimating the demand for vitamin C.

In a bid to promote sales, several producers reduced prices even though profit margins were already low.

Prices of feed- and food-grade vitamin C reduced to around RMB24/kg.

With aquaculture production coming to an end, aqua feed producers are unlikely to stock high inventories of vitamin C.
