China's Wen's Group to build pig farm in Guangdong

China's Wen's Group will build a new pig farm in Zhongjiang district, which is located in the southern province of Guangdong. The agreement for the project was signed on Tuesday (Sep 11) between the company and the local government of Zhongjiang.

Costing RMB300 in initial investments, the farm is capable of producing 200,000 heads of hogs annually upon completion.

In the recent years, the Chinese government has been calling for the development of large-scale pig farms in place of backyard farms, which often operate in unhygienic conditions.
