Down from more than 36.5 million seen in August, FranceAgriMer slashed its forecast for France's 2012 soft wheat crop to 36.1 million tonnes on Tuesday (Sep 11).
The crop would still be 6.2% larger than in 2011, it said.
FranceAgriMer's estimate is lower than the one released the farm ministry on Monday (Sep 10) at 36.5 million tonnes.
In its first estimate for 2012, FranceAgriMer put the French grain corn crop at 15.2 million tonnes, down 2.7% on 2011. That was close to the ministry's estimate at 15.25 million tonnes.
