AI aquaculture firm Tidal appoints Anders Fossøy as general manager for Norway

Tidal, a company specialising in artificial intelligence (AI) powered solutions for fish farming, has appointed Anders Fossøy as its new general manager for Norway, Fishfarmingexpert reported.
Fossøy previously served as commercial director at Aquabyte, a competitor of Tidal, which develops AI-powered cage cameras and analytics for the aquaculture industry.
Tidal, a spin-off from Alphabet's moonshot factory, said that Fossøy's experience with innovative software solutions for sustainable food production at Aquabyte will provide him with valuable insights for his new role. His expertise is expected to contribute to Tidal's continued growth in Norway.
The company highlighted that Fossøy will utilise his in-depth knowledge of the Norwegian market to lead Tidal's efforts in supporting fish farmers in their adoption of advanced technology. This transition is aimed at enabling farmers to make more informed decisions and create new value through enhanced data insights.
"I am excited about the mission and product, and I am eager to work alongside the Tidal team on its path toward becoming a crucial partner for fish farmers as they adopt data-driven decision-making and achieve fish welfare and sustainability goals. I look forward to contributing to the further development of the Norwegian market," said Fossøy.
Tidal's chief executive, Rajesh Jadhav, expressed confidence in Fossøy's ability to drive the company's growth. "Anders' extensive experience and passion for sustainable and welfare-focused aquaculture make him an ideal fit for Tidal. We are confident that his leadership will be instrumental in accelerating our path to scale our positive impact in Norway, a key market for the aquaculture industry," Jadhav said.
